1. Introduction

Welcome to Cartoonie. These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of our website and services.

2. Terms of Use

By accessing this website, we assume you accept these terms and conditions in full. Do not continue to use Cartoonie if you do not accept all of the terms and conditions stated on this page.

You agree to not use Cartoonie for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.

You agree to not use Cartoonie to create or share any content that is not appropriate for all ages.

You agree to not use Cartoonie to generate any inappropriate or offensive content.

By participating in the Cartoonie referral program, you agree to not abuse the program. This includes, but is not limited to, creating multiple accounts to earn referral credits, sharing your referral link with non-referral users, or using other methods to earn referral credits without referring users.

We reserve the right to terminate your account if we determine you are abusing the referral program.

We reserve the right to change the referral program rules at any time.

We reserve the right to cap the referral credits at any time.

We reserve the right to terminate your account if we determine you are using the service in a way that is not in compliance with these terms and conditions.

3. License

Unless otherwise stated, Cartoonie and/or its licensors own the intellectual property rights for all material on Cartoonie. All intellectual property rights are reserved.

You may view and/or print pages from the website for your own personal use subject to restrictions set in these terms and conditions.

You must not:

  • Republish material from this website
  • Sell, rent or sub-license material from this website
  • Reproduce, duplicate or copy material from this website
  • Redistribute content from Cartoonie (unless content is specifically made for redistribution)

4. User Content

In these terms and conditions, "User Content" means material (including without limitation text, images, audio material, video material and audio-visual material) that you submit to our website, for whatever purpose.

You grant to Cartoonie a worldwide, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate and distribute your User Content in any existing or future media. You also grant to Cartoonie the right to sub-license these rights, and the right to bring an action for infringement of these rights.

5. Credits, Subscriptions, and Acceptable Use

Cartoonie offers pay-as-you-go credit packs and optional subscription plans. This section explains how those purchases work and how the service may be used.

Personal use of the service

Cartoonie is intended for personal, non-commercial use of the service. You may use Cartoonie to create cartoons of yourself, friends, family, pets, and other subjects for your own enjoyment, sharing, and projects.

You may not use Cartoonie, including any subscription plan or credit balance, to:

  • Operate a business, agency, or paid service that generates cartoons for clients or customers through Cartoonie
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide access to Cartoonie or its generation features to third parties
  • Automate or script bulk generation in a way that exceeds normal personal use
  • Use Cartoonie primarily as a production tool for commercial content creation at scale

This restriction applies to your use of the Cartoonie service. It does not limit how you may use cartoons you have already generated for personal or commercial purposes, subject to the license in Section 3 and applicable law.

What "Unlimited" means

Some subscription plans are described as offering "unlimited" cartoon generation. Unlimited means unlimited cartoon generations for normal personal use during an active subscription period. It does not mean unconstrained access to computing resources, priority processing, or a specific image quality level regardless of usage.

We design subscription plans for typical individual users creating cartoons for themselves and people they know. Usage well beyond that level is not included in "unlimited" and may be restricted as described below.

Normal personal use

For purposes of these Terms, normal personal use means generating up to 20 cartoons per calendar day (in your local timezone or the timezone associated with your account, as determined by Cartoonie) under a single account.

This daily amount is intended to cover enthusiastic personal use, such as trying multiple styles, creating cartoons for a small group of friends or family, or working through a personal photo collection. It is not intended to support business-scale, automated, or high-volume production.

Restrictions for excessive use

If we determine that your use exceeds normal personal use, we may apply one or more restrictions without prior notice, including:

  • Temporary cooldown periods before additional cartoons can be generated
  • Increased waiting times between generations
  • Generation using a lower-cost or standard-quality processing tier
  • Temporary suspension of subscription benefits or account access

These measures are intended to prevent abuse, manage service costs, and keep Cartoonie available for typical users. We may use usage patterns, generation frequency, and other signals — not only a single daily count — to identify use that exceeds normal personal use.

We reserve the right to modify what constitutes normal personal use, including the daily cartoon threshold, with reasonable notice where practicable. Material changes will be reflected in an updated "Last Updated" date on this page.

Credits and subscriptions

Credit packs grant a fixed number of cartoon generations. Credits do not expire unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase. Subscription plans renew automatically unless cancelled through your Apple ID subscription settings. Refunds are handled according to Apple's policies.

We reserve the right to refuse service, adjust generation limits, or terminate accounts that violate this section or that we reasonably believe are abusing credits, subscriptions, promotional offers, or referral programs.

6. AI Processing

Cartoonie uses third-party AI processing services, including OpenAI, LLC, to create cartoons from photos you choose to upload. When you request a cartoon, you authorize Cartoonie to send your selected photo, selected style, and generation instructions to those services solely for the purpose of creating your cartoon and providing the service to you.

Additional details about what data is sent, how it is used, and how long uploaded photos are retained are available in our Privacy Policy.

7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Cartoonie, nor any of its officers, directors and employees, be liable to you for anything arising out of or in any way connected with your use of this website, whether such liability is under contract, tort or otherwise.

8. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Wyoming in the United States of America and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that location.
